Yes — when proper ventilation is used. Acrylic itself is safe to laser cut, but the fumes must be extracted properly using a fume extractor or external ventilation.
Use high power, high speed, proper focus, and strong air assist. Keeping the protective film on and using recommended material presets prevents scorching and edge discoloration.
Cloudy edges occur when the laser is out of focus or speed is too slow. Correct focus, adequate airflow, and proper power settings restore glass-clear edge quality.
